Riem Arcaden
The Riem Arcaden shopping centre extends over 30,000 square metres - a little larger than four football fields. Its four interconnected structures at Willy-Brandt-Platz are the urban centre of the Messestadt Riem (Trade Fair And Exhibition City ) district. Together with a hotel, they almost form the shape of a flat U shape. The shopping centre is arranged over three floors with around 120 shops and boutiques as well as several fast food restaurants arranged in galleries. The steel roof construction of the Riem Arcaden harmonizes visually with the portico of Willy-Brandt-Platz. Because no further commercial areas were initially planned in the area, the Riem Arcaden is used for daily local shopping in the district. The shopping centre also attracts customers from the surrounding districts and communities, and is the third largest of its kind in Munich.
