Riemer Park
In a area of 210 hectares, Riemer Park is Munich's third largest city park after the Englischen Garten and Nymphenburger Park. It is semicircular in shape, open to the north and it extends for about four kilometres. ’Green fingers‘ reach deep into the built-up areas. Together with alpine views, the Riemer Park offers a beautiful visual landscape that makes walking, jogging or tobogganning even more inviting. Two viewing and tobogganing hills were built from the demolition material from the former airport. Another attraction here is the Riemer See (Lake). The straight lines of the main paths, lined with meadows and oak and pine forests, are reminiscent of the runways that were built not far from here. Because the Bundesgartenschau (Federal Garden Show) was held in the Riemer Park in 2005, it is also known as BUGA-Park.
