Cooperative living wagnisART
The wagnisART complex consists of five white energy passive high-rise residential buildings connected by bridges, awarded the German City Prize in 2016. The redevelopment was created through an intensive process of collaboration, because the residents are tenants in their own homes; a key principle of cooperative housing. In addition to providing homes, WagnisART offers a range of different facilities such as art studios, medical surgeries, offices, a café, workshops, a sewing room, rehearsal rooms, an indoor playground and guest apartments. In addition, there are two public courtyards, alongside semi-public areas between the individual houses. The roof gardens and terraces are only available to residents. The special feature of this residential complex are the cluster apartments. These are up to 400 square metres in size and comprise a maximum of eight small apartments with bathroom and kitchenette, which are arranged around shared living areas.
