BMW Headquarters and BMW Museum
BMW Headquarters and BMW Museum were designed by Austrian architect Karl Schwanzer and finished in time for the Olympic Games in 1972. The museum represents one of the oldest automotive museums in Germany and was declared a listed monument in 1999. The circular base is only about 20 meters in diameter. The exhibition visitors move in an upwards spiral. The statics of BMW Headquarters is remarkable: the four 'cylinders' hang on cantilevers and do not touch the ground.
