The former imperial residence of the 13th century was the location of the Munich Central Tax Office for a long time. Between 2003 and 2006, the north and east wings were completed, and the listed Lorenzistock building was renovated and converted for office and commercial use. The metal and glass elements of the new roof are ornamentally printed. Depending on the time of day and the incidence of light, this material either coordinates with the adjacent red tiled roofs of the old buildings, or distances itself from them in colour. Exclusive apartments were created in the Brunnenstock and Pfisterstock parts of the building. The Burgstock and Zwingerstock wings house state and cultural institutions as well as gastronomic offerings. The Alte Hof adds quality and value to the built environment and provides an attractive mix of uses.
